Today we learnt the earth has lots of layers like a sandwich. On the surface is grass, then there is dirt. Over time the dirt turns into rock. The middle of the Earth is made from magma. Magma is melted rock.
I hope you are enjoying your learning about volcanoes Room 1. We're learning about the same thing in Room 6. So far we have learnt a lot of really interesting information. Did you know that Lake Taupo is a volcano?
There were 5 people in Room 1 who knew that. The rest of us were very surprised. Now we know that a long time ago, when the volcano erupted, it blew into lots of pieces.
